First off-- if you are tired of getting these updates in your email inbox, you're not alone. Personally? I read the subject line and then delete campaign updates for projects I back. You can set your account to NOT send you updates about projects in email, make a filter in your inbox to filter out update emails to the trash automatically, or just delete it as it comes in. I put all this time into all these updates specifically because I know some people DO want them. It's easier for me to make it and offer it to everyone, with some people opting out on their end, than it is to find a way to get updates only to people who want them. Also Kickstarter doesn't have a feature for me to do that haha.
Backerkit surveys went out a couple days ago.
They were ALL sent. If you haven't gotten it yet, look again, or MESSAGE ME on kickstarter to get a direct link to your survey. Do not tell me in any other place, or in a comment-- I have to send it to you privately in a message on Kickstarter.
If you set up your Kickstarter with an Appleid, backerkit doesn't have an email address to send you your survey. that's why you didn't get an email with your survey link. That's been a recurring issue-- message me on kickstarter and I can get you a direct link to the survey.
Shippping was always going to be charged on Backerkit
The most common issue I've seen lately has been people confused why they're being charged on backerkit at all. Some are asking why they need to pay again when they already paid on Kickstarter. It says on the Kickstarter in the pledge level section, and in the pledge tiers themselves, and in various updates, that shipping will be charged in backerkit. It has been that way from the start. It's why it said $0 for shipping when you grabbed your pledge.
I understand some people pledged without really reading much, but I promise it was clear in multiple places. It wasn't sneaky fine print, or something I'm springing on you now at the end.
Deadline to do your survey, add items, etc is June 13th. You'll still be able to update address until I begin shipping. I am CHARGING CARDS ON JUNE 14th. You will not be charged for your shipping or backerkit add-ons until then.

Backerkit Surveys Going Out Today!

Hello!
It's about time, am I right?
So as of a few minutes ago, I sent out 1,000 surveys. It was a random bundle of 1,000 people, called a 'smoke test'. Basically testing out that everything works. I'm going to give it a few hours, check to see if there are any issues with my surveys, the questions, the items, the shipping, etc. 3 hours from now, so long as it all looks good, I will release a batch of 5,000 surveys (2pm MST). Then I'll wait an hour or two, shoot another 5,000 (4pm MST). Wait another hour or two, shoot another 5,000 (6pm MST). Then after another two hours, I will launch the remaining 3,000~ (8pm MST).
The goal here is to take it nice and slow in case of errors and to help save their website from being just overrun.
You will be getting emails today, either from Backerkit or SevenThirteenBooks, or Publishing Goblin? In any case, look for a new email today in your inbox or your spam folder if you don't see it in the inbox. When you click the link in the email, it will take you here. On this page, it will show you your pledge level and how much money you paid. Select your country for shipping and hit 'Get Started'.
You will see a question asking you to be aware that you already have all your add-ons you claimed on Kickstarter. i.e., any items you added to your cart on Kickstarter are already moved over here. The next page is for new add-ons.
This image shows what that add-on shop looks like. Note that in the top right corner, there are already items listed in my 'cart'. Those were the items from my pledge. On the left is a list of items (with pictures!) that you can scroll through and hit 'Add to Cart' to get extra stuff! You'll note that we have $1 complimentary credit. I said before the campaign launched that I would lower the pledge tiers by $1 in cost per 1,000 backers that followed the pre-launch page. We had 1,070 on launch, and I didn't lower the pledge tiers. Whoops-- so now you all get a single dollar in credit. This will go towards your shipping, if nothing else.
Do you want multiple of an add on? Hit the Add to Cart button as many times as you want on any item, or hit it once and go to the cart on the right and type in how many of the item you want.
Then hit next, lock in the shipping, and confirm!
I will be locking orders and surveys on the 13th of June. I will be charging your cards for shipping+extra add-ons on the 14th of June. I will NOT lock your address until we get towards the end of August, so you will be able to go back to your survey at any time between now and then to update your address if you need to.

(ps you'll notice on that first image that the campaign funds raised were under 1.4 mil. There were just so many cards that didn't get charged properly, we lost 30,000+$. Oh well-- anyone who lost their pledge can instead pre-order on the backerkit! Just hit the 'pre-order' button on the kickstarter campaign page. Again, this is ONLY for people who did not pledge on the kickstarter, or whose pledge was cancelled. If you pledged AND pre-order items, the pre-ordered order will not be magically merged with your pledge.)

Okay, so! Pre-orders of the tarot are now live on BackerKit. That means that if you DIDN'T pledge on Kickstarter, you can go here and put in what amounts to a late pledge. AGAIN, this is NOT for people who pledged on Kickstarter. It's for if you missed out entirely.
Backer surveys for y'all on Backerkit (to include more stuff or just pay for shipping) cannot go out until I pay Backerkit what I owe. The money won't arrive from KS until the 27th at the earliest, so expect around then for survey emails to go out. It will be at that time that you can add more items to your order and answer survey questions (if you're getting a signed copy, who I sign to-- if you're getting a 'touched' copy, what things can I not do to your cards+book? If you're getting a late shipping 'touched' copy, do you want to pay extra $ to get the rest of your order sent on time, etc)
When the surveys start going out, I will make an update to explain how it works. So don't worry about how it works or if you missed it or anything until that time. <3
For now, sit tight. We'll have some slight radio silence as I finish Booster Pack #4, Blanks Booster, and the guidebook. Congratulations to all of us!
Together, as a community, as a collaboration between 100+ artists across all these tarot decks, we have become the most funded tarot kickstarter ever, and with 2x the backers of any other tarot project easy. Hell. Yes.
The Alleyman and his Boosters
It's about time we welcomed the Alleyman himself to his deck! The incredible Shan Bennion (check their credits here on the queen of disks for more) came THROUGH with a fantastic card-- which will be the foil card for Booster Pack #1, as well as the image used on the booster packs themselves (at least for now!... maybe I'll have the foil card in each pack be the pack covers! Who knows, everything is up in the air!)
We will move to the backerkit as soon as I get it set up, and it will stay up until June 13th or so. You'll have auto-populated carts with all your pledged items, plus the free coin and free copy of Booster Pack #4, and if you backed in the first 24 hours, that free print of the Final Card. I also promised on tumblr or twitter or both that for every 1,000 followers we had on the campaign before launch, I'd lower the pledge tiers a dollar. But I forgot before launching, so I'm going to try and give every backer a $1 credit to do it retroactively haha-- I do my best.
EDIT: Yes, you'll be able to edit your cart to add more items all you want in the backerkit, extra decks, boosters, etc.
It will take your address when you fill out the survey, but know that you'll be able to update that all the way up to September 1st when we should be fulfilling.
(ps I've talked with the printer and they still think we'll fulfill in September, but with how many people are on here do not be surprised if it's pushed back to October! Just something to keep in mind!)

Hello!!
First off, we did it! We are the most funded tarot project ever, with almost 2x the number of backers of any other project! More pay to the artists is unlocked, AND there's a new 7-card booster pack that I'm working on that you are all getting for free!
If you want a 2nd copy (or 3rd, 4th, 5th etc), it is now available as Booster #4 as an add-on.
Second, I did a RANDOM THING and decided there will be 17 cards per pack. It's just the right number-- 17c to get a reading from the Alleyman, so 17 cards it is. So first, let's check out Booster #1 and #2's missing cards. Note that Booster pack #1 only revealed 13 of its cards back at the start, one was left a ? for me to fill later and another got pulled due to licensing error. So Booster Pack #1 has 4 cards to make up, while Booster #2 just has slot 16+17 to fill.
(ps Booster #1 will have a foil The Alleyman card in it, not quite ready to be shown.)
((pps Booster #1 also has a new Moon card that I cant show yet.... But oh well.))

I still don't have any pictures of the actual bags or boxes or cloths yet-- sorry. Adding big things like this so late in the campaign really delays you getting pictures of a finished version, but these are the designs!
The 'cigar box' will be a wooden box, etched with that 'The Alley Mans Short Cigars' logo, cartoon man, and some over-explanatory text, as was common in 50s and 60s ads.
The tarot cloth (24x24") will be cotton or a similar thin, hankerchief/bandana material. It features calligraphy by a good friend, Sean Dingo Burnham, themed from 'Alleyway Liqueur', with their motto 'Make Your Own Way'.
